The young horses at Kytiri Ranch have a wonderful environment in which to develop their minds and their bodies.  We have over 100 acres of river land, the vast majority of which is in pasture.  In the winter or during flood season the horses are stabled at night, and turned out in large pastures during the day.  In the summer, they live out in the large pastures (4 to 20+ acres) with run in shelter.  They are brought in daily for grooming and handling.  These horses have the best of both worlds - the large areas to run and play, and the daily human contact to allow them to develop good trust and working relationships with people.

Riverwatch

(Pedigree)

Gorgeous 2004 bay yearling stud colt w/ star & 4 white socks - $10,000 as stud or $6,000 gelded.  Parelli trained through level 1, starting level 2.  This is a phenomenal colt.  He is smart, beautiful and a pleasure to watch - whether in work or at play in the fields.  He is so easy to train and manage, but still has personality to make it all interesting.  He is the first stud colt I have worked with and has taught me so much.  He will take advantage of you if you let him, but he completely respects you if you simply ask him to do his job.  No harsh techniques needed, just let him know that he can't take charge of you.  Wonderful mind and temperament.  Great conformation and substance.  This youngster has really grown this spring and has is definitely fulfilling the promise of his youth.

Stormwatch D

(Pedigree)

Athletic 2004 grey yearling gelding - $4,500.  Full brother to the 2004 Scottsdale Reserve Junior Champion Filly!!  Parelli trained through level 1, starting level 2.  Stormy has a naturally easy going temperament, and generally takes new things in stride.  He proved his athleticism as a weanling by jumping over some hotwire tape fencing in order to re-join his pasture mate River at the barn.  He is simple to handle and very uncomplicated.  His temperament would make him a great pleasure mount and his good looks would turn heads in the ring or on the trail.

Both yearlings have been in Parelli training with Robin Ryner.  Through level 1, starting level 2 now.  River has slightly more training time than Stormy, mostly because as a stud colt we wanted to make sure his manners were impeccable.  (Stormy pictured below with Robin.)
